In 2010 (no information provide for 2011), about 1.4 million people visited Kenya. They have 6 sites listed on UNESCO's World Heritage list. Kenya boasts beautiful landscapes with different animal species at every turn. In Kenya, the tourism industry helps to preserve wildlife, and also provides aid to schools. However, Kenya's tourism industry has started to suffer due to environmental issues. Other issues that plague Kenya due to the tourism industry, would be the issues with local tribes, citizens being forced out of their land, disturbances with the wildlife, as well as a few other issues. Some other issues that had an affect on tourism in the country, was the presidential election in 2007 that led to a decrease in the number of tourists that visited, and an explosion that took place in Nairobi in 2010. If this country finds a way to improve environmental tourism, and settle issues with the people of Kenya, I believe that the tourism industry of the country will gradually improve.
